- Set up instructions for the Paragon version;
- NOTE: DOS version is also available. The DOS (CLI) version allows multinode/
- multiplayer action! Suggested if your BBS can run this version.
-
- unarc to any directory... Example: Doors:DeepSpace
- Don't use spaces in the names of the directories... 'Doors:Deep Space'
- Only one player should be allowed to play at once!
-

- This part is optional...........
-
- Edit file Text/AlienRaces
- You can have the aliens named whatever you wish.
- Names have to be 15 characters or less..
- The GameSetupP program will create the Aliens from this text file.
- 2 aliens of each name will be created if there are 25 names or less..
- So if you have 25 names you will get 50 Aliens.. 15 you will get 30 ect..
- If you have 26 to 50 alien names only 1 Alien will be created for each
- name. A possible of 2 to 50 Aliens can be created for the game.
-

-
- Edit file Text/Sysop.txt
-
- Make sure your handle/name (what ever will be past to the game by the BBS)
- is on one line in this text file.. This will allow you access to the
- Sysop editors in the game. This file can be edited in the game. The
- name 'Sysop' is already in the text file. You can add all your
- Co-Sysops names also if you want to. But I wouldn't! The editors
- make it to tempting to cheat:)
-
- At the main menu in DeepSpace you can enter the Planet/Port editor by
- hitting '!'. Again only names that are in the Text/Sysop.txt file will
- gain access.
- Also at the main menu hit '@' to enter the Alien/User editor. Also
- defaults for the game can also be edited from here. How many turns
- each ship can have, what ship a new player starts with, how much $$,
- shields, ect... Oh yah also the remarks.txt file can be edited from
- the defaults editor. This contains insults/sayings that a alien/player
- will use when he/she is attacked.
-
- Now before you run DeepSpaceP you have to run GameSetupP from the CLI.
- Run this program from the same directory DeepSpaceP is located.
- It will create the universe, aliens, ports, ect.. After all the files are
- created a 'Registration' menu will appear. Even though you may not
- be already registered enter the path of the DeepSpace directory where
- prompted before hitting ESCAPE. Example: Doors:DeepSpace
- This will save the file ENV:DeepSpaceP/config
-
- You are all ready.. Run the door as a Paragon type as per your BBS's
- instructions..
